I'm a Driving Instructor so I spend all week holding up "normal" road users.

Try not to hold them up on hols (when towing) can't always oblige though.

I find they have no patience with learner drivers or caravaners.

How do you make a living???

p.s.

If you want to get someone a SUPERB driving instructor (Southampton area) look up www.solentdriving.co.uk

had to put that in free ad etc...wifes orders

I'm currently a Process technician (posh for trouble shooter) in the motor industry.

Hold a ROSPA catagory A cert for car and bike and am also a member of the advanced motorist's institute.

Enjoy training folks in all the aspects of driving you train the youngsters out of. Defencive driving, anti attack driving, very high speed driving. By the way none the last two are ever done on the highway, and I don't go out "honning my skills" at 3am on the M54.

Have trained a lot of people in the art of caravan towing and reversing.

I probably run on unleaded my self, as anything with a motor just has to be driven.

I work for a popular low cost british airline (not the orange one) dealing with passengers.

have a constant queue of passengers querying anything from the normal ("what times my flight?"/"where do I check in?").....to the ridiculous ("can I take a frozen turkey on the plane with me?"/"can my pet cat sit on my lap?")....nothing suprises or shocks me anymore....

its a very stressful job, but try to deliver the best possible customer service...try to keep a smile on my face and remember its work....and look forward to a relaxing weekend away in my caravan!

I will try and get all my pupils to go and attend a ROSPA course.I'm sure they would love to realise that passing the test is the very LOWEST standard of driving that they need to be on the roads solo. Trouble is they think they are the dogs whatsits. Kids eh? he he

Have encouraged some to go to IAM with good results.

Like the sound of the V high speed!! (M6 toll best for that surely?? always so quiet!)

How do you keep a smile on your face? I take my hat off to you for putting up with the British public at their most cheesed off state ie Wheres my plane etc.

Whats wrong with a frozen turkey? Is it classed as a dangerous weapon now or what? (I've eaten a few dangerous cooked ones!!)

Yep Simon, the M6 toll road could be the longest drag strip in the country at the current rate of depletion of use.

The fastest I've done so far is 185Mph in a car on a test track (Aston Martin DBR9), for road use they are restricted to 155Mph.

I've tamed the boy racers in our family. I took them out and showed them what a 46 year old can do with a Nissan Skyline drifter. They all came back with the wallace and gromit cheesey grin, and promptly told their dad's I was a nutter. Funny though, they all stick to the speed limit now!!??

Steve.

simon, i do sometimes wonder how i do stay sane!?!...sometimes work is so bizarre you've just got to laugh.

Its certainly opened up my eyes to customer service..also over working for the airline for the last 8 years shows you how much more demanding the public are...even if they are only paying a few pounds for their flight!

yes- very particular with what you can carry on board now,..even had a poor woman who had her home made xmas crackers confiscated at check in.!!
