What Screw in Pegs can you recommend please?

Off all the different screw in pegs available, which would you recommend please? Are the Megascrew worth the extra money?

I was at the Chapel Lane CC site last week and had forgotten how hard the hard standings are. On most sites I can use rock pegs but Chapel Lane the hard standings are something else.
I decided to go to the nearest dealer to buy some screw in pegs and an adapter for the drill. What I have found is that at 7 inches long the screw pegs wobble about so much that I had to use the normal rock pegs to make a pilot hole of at least 1 inch then use the screw in pegs.
With rock pegs you can steady them by holding the peg at the base but with a screw in peg you cannot do this.So I will reserve judgement on whether the screw type are worth the money until I have used them on other sites

When we were at Chapel Lane a couple of years ago we were on a tarmac area. You weren't trying to put pegs into that were you? 😱hmy: 😗

I would recommend coachbolts from either Screwfix or Toolstation. Better range of sizes from Toolstation. Cheaper than the ones advertised as screwpegs but appear exactly the same. Bought some 8mm diameter ones from Toolstation last summer as replacements for my bent and damaged ones, no noticeable difference in quality. Also got some 10mm penny washers and some 10mm wing nuts, stick the washers on then the wing nuts on upside down and that will do in place of the plastic hooks/tops on the ready made ones.

No we were on the standard hard standing pitch.
We never used to have the problem at Chapel Lane until they resurfaced the pitches a few years ago

Just had a look at the Megascrew pegs. How are they different from normal screw pegs that you put in with a drill. Are they longer?

Re the megascrew pegs. I don't have these but looking at them on the internet they are 8mm dia. coach screws, 200mm ( 8 inches in old money) long. The only thing that seems different from other screwpegs is the style of the plastic head, also some screwpegs are shorter in length.
As I said earlier look at Screwfix or better still Toolstation, you will get the same coach screw in Toolstation at £1.74 for a pack of 10. No plastic top, but easy to use penny washer or something similar.
