What to go for next

Hi everyone hope someone may be able to help we really need to try and down size our car it is a kia sedona 2.9 auto 2008 and we tow a swift challenger 625 t/a around 1500 unladen and 1800 at the top looking to try and save a bit on the diesel as well as the road tax plus its only me the wife and two kids when we go away i know its a large and heavey van but there must be something out there thats better than this was thinking along the lines of s max x trail something like that thanks in advance

There are plenty of cheaper to run cars that can legally tow your van. Ford Kuga & VW Tiguan immediately spring to mind. However these cars are significantly lighter than your van. Whe legal, I would not recommend.

Cheap to run cars heavier than 1800kg are thin on the ground. Our 4007 SE weighs 1825kg claims to do 39 mpg combined & road tax is 215 currently.

If you like your current car, remember the loss on changing such a new car will probably outweigh the running costs savings.
