Wheel covers in the awning

It will only in my opinion invalidate the warranty in the place you drill the hole but you would make a proper job of sealing it .

We use plastic suction hooks joined to the wheel flap with elastic loops.

hi jason i used a kit made by isabella the stud are suplied with a glue which you mix and a small dab on the back of the stud just kept in place with a sticky tape whilst the glue sets about an hour and hard set with no holes for water ingress realy good ours is fine and have taken cover on and off quite a few times i think it cost

there is no need now to use the stud type fastenings that either screw or adhere to the caravan wall.you can affix the wheel cover to the skirting via a peice of figure of 8,and the wheel cover(which you can buy with rubber suckers attached from any good caravan accessory shop)just sticks to the wall of the van.

Jason we use velcro strips which are self adhesive and stick to the van and the wheel cover. 3 small pieces about 3cm, one for each corner and one in the middle. It works a treat and no drilling of holes in your new pride and joy.

Thanks eveyone for your options. Looks like the velcro one is the easiest (and cheapest). Will give it a go.

I agree with Watson and the others who recommend suction cups and elastic/rubber bands. Velco works as well but one half of it remains stuck to the 'van perminantly, these get dirty and look messy after a while, still it's up tp you but don't put any screws into your 'van.

yes alan,i would give the velcro a miss,it does tend to get very dirty and shabby looking, suction rubberes are the best option

Hi,

As Alister recommends use velcro strip. It comes invarious colours including white. We Put the female part of the tape on the van and the male version on the wheel cover as it does not pick up as much muck and if you arrive when its raining its very easy to push a thumb across the surface to dispel most of the water in the tape. I would not recommend drilling your van when there is such a easy, cheap, option available.
