Easy to find reminders here on importance of fire extinguishers. Harder to think where on earth to mount one without tripping over it or it being poorly sited. Put my fire blanket on the inside of the right hand wardrobe door, which can be left ajar whilst cooking. Extinguisher seems too heavy for that ... what do people do?

i have used a little cubby hole in my kitching area on my bailey for putting my extinguisher in. bolted down through the wood, nice and neat and in easy reach (also has my first aid kit in). then i have a fire blanket hanging on a hook on side of cuboard in kitching area which is near the door
Mine travels in a crate in the car, and when on site it's placed on a work surface adjacent to the door. Very easy to grab as we make our rapid exit!
I wouldn't mount it, but would carry one or more (of different types) and leave itthem near the caravan, same place every time.
Probably Co2 and dry (very very messy) powder.
First of all get to a place of safety, and if it is safe to do so fight the fire with a handy (appropriate) extinguisher.

Travels in the corner cupboard in the kitchen and tucks away on the kitchen worktop by the door when we remember to unpack it.
A 2 kg, dry powder near to the jockey wheel, and a 1 kg Co2 next to the bed, so if there is a fire during the night at least I could maybe get a 2 minute space to get out.

I would hope that your smoke/CO detector would alert you in sufficient time to exit the caravan. Surely using CO2 in a confined space wouldn't be good idea especially with the extinguisher near the bed at night! Probably at max distance from the door too. 2 minutes and you would be dead if I remember my time at the Royal Navy Firefighting School correctly.
