Is the world going mad when a mainstream car maker introduces a model like this - it's not a special for racing/rallying, it's just a family SUV

Manufactures claimed 280 miles so in reality 200/220 miles. Our Suzuki Across 302 bhp 0 to 60 5.5/5.7 seconds what is the point ?

Why would any of us want a car that does 0-60 in under 5 secs? Being retired no rush for anything and at that price, boy racers could not afford the car!

My Touareg has all the acceleration that I need - it'll do 50 to illegal very easily when overtaking trucks - my previous 7-seat Hyundai Santa Fe was no slouch either.

Just maybe they perceive a market for buyers who look beyond "image", consider say aspects with a more tangible affect, reliability, price and possibly theft potential?

I dont think Kia care if they fit in. They are just catering to a market. None of the others offer 7 seats and a 7 year warranty and running costs of 3p a mile either...
