Why is caravan insurance so expensive?

My small caravan valued at £10500 cost me £220 to insure for this year. My car valued at £18000 cost me £214. My car is driven by 3 drivers and I do about 10000 miles a year.I do about 1500 with the caravan so why, bearing in mind the values and mileages why is it more costly to insure the caravan? Seems to me someone is onto a good thing!
 
The reason the insurers give for this rip off premium is that a caravan is easy to steal and a lot are being stolen. Now ask can you insure for damage only. You can guess the answere in one. J.Lo

considering you are insured for 3drivers with you car you have got a very cheap insurance and your caravan is a very reasonable price,some of these cheap insurance companies are not so hot on paying up when you have a bump,cheapest is not always best.We insure our caravan with the Caravan club now they aren't the cheapest but they are the very best and I know that from expierce.jimbob
