OK,.. at the risk of sounding thick...

If i switch from a caravan with an Alko hitch to one with a Winterhoff hitch, does it require a change to the towball? I have an Alko towball fitted but i have never heard anyone say anything about a Winterhoff towball.

No there is no need to change the towball for that change of hitch.
If it were the other way around, then yes you would need the Al-Ko extended neck ball.

The AlKo towball will fit a Winterhoff coupling, no problem.

You would only to change to an extended alko tow ball if it was the bolt on fixed type , a swan neck is fine

The Winterhoff hitch does not need an extended neck towball, only the Al-Ko does.

Sorry Damion you are making it sound that if you fit an Alko you have to fit an extended tow ball, this is not the case if you have a detatchable or fixed swan neck.

If you have a fixed swan neck or detachable , there is nowhere to affix an Al-KO extended neck ball,,,,,speaks for itself really.
