My wife has been phoning around for a detatchable towbar for our shogun, the company said it would be either witter or pct, after speaking with me the wife told them we wanted a witter bar. They said ok but the bar would not say witter but it would have three letters on it (the wife can't remember the letters but it was not pct) can anyone shed some light on this as i thought if it was a witter bar it would say witter on it?

thanks

It sounds like a fiddle !!

Which area are you in?

My "Witter" towbar fitted at a Nissan Dealer hasn't any visible Witter name or rating plate that is easily seen and you have me wondering !!

The witter fited to my CRV has a plate fitted with honda CRV written on it and the nose weight limit and a couple of other ratings D & S ratings I think they are called. I

thought it was a requirement now for cars registered after a certain date?

The towsure catalogue shows detachables for certain models of Shogun and these and others have a TEC catalogue number, perhaps this is the 3 letters refered to.

apparently TEC stands for "Towsure Eclipse Coupling" which enables certain standard towsure brackets to be upgraded to detachable ones.
