Hi Everyone

I am really happy bunny today.

We have just picked up our new car, in the end we went for the Ford Mondeo. Ours is a 54 reg, 2.0 tdci 130 ghia in silver.

It is absolutely immaculate, and has had one owner who has lovingly looked after it with 55,000 miles on the clock.

We bought it through a dealers, who gave us a years mot, taxed until Jan 2010, 3 months warranty and the service we received was excellent.

The icing on the cake was getting the car home. We have just found an almost brand new hardly used detachable tow bar in the boot. We will have to get the pin changed as it is a 7 pin plug,

and will get all the electrics and everything checked out, but we couldn't be happier. We cannot wait until next weekend when we are going out on our maiden voyage with the car.

I would like to say thank you to everyone again, for all the help advice and support that you have given me. It makes me realise just how lucky I am to have found the forum and why I always buy the magazine every month.

Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!

Sam. Good luck with your caravanning for the future and we hope you and the family really enjoy yourselves.

The Ford should be a good family tow horse for you, don't forget that if you tow a lot good quality engine oil and slightly earlier oil filter change does not come amiss.

Happy caravanning.

Hi Sam,

Great news! And the tow ball to boot, that will have saved you probably a couple of hundred.

Happy caravanning, just remember take it slow to start with, build a bit of confidence and then when you've got all the little bits sorted you should feel fine.

Have fun,

Hi Jo

We got the hatchback, it's a bigger boot for all my junk.

We are so pleased with it, I keep looking out of the window at it tonight. I agree about the silver, it doesn't show the dirt so much.

I haven't driven it yet, as hubby drove it home. I borrowed my Dad's little 1.1 fiesta to pick the car up, whilst hubby drove it home with the cruise control on and the air-con blasting. The ******!!!! No doubt we will be out tomorrow giving it a good clean, and putting our stamp on it. I've got to make sure I put my Caravan Club sticker back in the front window (god, I'm getting old)

Thanks Jo, for all your help as I know you have contributed to alot of my posts ;-)

Speak to you soon
