Hi WC, are you getting wet? Didn't want to dissapoint you, slinging it down here :(
Think I may have to retire from the Woosie Club now, toilet and shower on site but on board facilities getting full use,
Too far to walk in the rain :(
In the awning now getting wet on the inside :woohoo:

I'm sat in the awning keeping dry from the rain outside using my Chrome book. The wifi signal is better out here (and I don't have to listen to the TV that the OH is watching). ;)

I'm fuming though as some toe rag dented the wing of my car this morning in the car park of Kidwelly castle car park. Didn't notice the damage until we got back to site, else I would have had a go at the driver of the minibus parked next to us. I'm sure it was them.

Sorry to hear about the car WC have a beer and get wet on the inside like me :)

Yep, I try and park away from the masses & walk a bit. (As most folk want to park next to the store doors) Yesterday parked well away, plenty of spaces either side and in front. No problem opening either side doors fully. But hadn't got the doors open before "she" parked next to us. Unbelievable! fellow in the passenger seat immediately opens his door onto ours (albeit 'gently') "She" could open her door fully as no car parked that side of her. Right, just about to get out with both barrels loaded, when we noticed (fortunately) before I fired that the passenger was disabled, (Not physically) so obviously resisted. But wouldn't you have thought that I suspect mother with a disabled son would have had a bit more consideration for her son and parked so he could have opened his door without bothering anyone. Masses of free spaces. Still not sure whether I should have said my piece or what?
PS I bet you'll be telling us next --- they're the wife's wellies Steve (Sproket)

I wasn't just a door ding, it looked like the minibus came in at 45 degrees and dented the top of the wheel arch by an inch for a length of 6 inches. The wheel looks OK :(

Ding and runners p?$$ me off.
Sir WC you are now in that invidious position whereby it will probably be cheaper in the long run to pay for the repairs yourself and avoid claiming on insurance. Or you could just leave it..............

Oh dear WC ... :(
That's not an easy one to sort out ....
Is the gap still the same where the bumper fit's as it looks like its moved but that could be the photo angle ..
Also has the gap altered between the wing and the bonnet (check the other side for the gap size) ...

All gaps seem reasonable, but the gap to the front panel assembly is slightly odd, but it may have always been like it (similar on the other side). Other joints around the car are not perfect in any case. The wing is bolt-on thin gauge steel, whereas the front panel assembly is plastic.

I must read my insurance policy to see if the protected no claims bonus covers other parties damage.

I would not be surprised if you do go down the insurance claim route that they fit a new wing due to the impact site being on a variable radius it will be a bit awkward to repair as it won't pull out easily..

Got the first quote this morning from a national repair company - £340 all in. Includes removal of wing for repair, repainting, resealing, other scratch repairs, refitting, VAT, etc. Also includes repainting wing mirror housing which had some paint removed. My comprehensive car insurance has a £250 excess, so not much in it.

Planning to get a quote from the supplying Vauxhall dealership this afternoon.

Just got back from the dealer - £240 including courtesy car for a couple of days. :) Cheaper than the £250 insurance excess.

Sir WC

If the Vauxhall dealer does the repair your anti corrosion warranty remains in place.Sounds like a good quote and as you say less than your excess.
Plus a freebie car : :)

And they say loyalty doesn't count for much these days! :)

Got the car back today, good job, can't see the join. :)

The van is ready for collection in the morning after its service, however it needed 2 new tyres (split sidewalls). :( Why aren't the gods smiling on me??

That's a bit premature failure. Strange both tyres sidewalls have failed??
Are you sure you Lady Squirrel haven't broken a mirror recently :silly:
