In our family the current trend is to just go off and get married, the happy couple do as they want to do without all the hassle of trying to please all and sundry. 😛

We did just that. My take was when family and friends noticed my wife's wedding ring, if they ever did, then that indicated their actual genuine interest in us having got married.

We did relent immediately after the wedding in the car en route to a nice lunch our witnesses sprang on us, and rang the in laws to be told 'we wanted to be there'. My response was 'we didn't want you there, we had always said we'd do it when we wanted to, on our own'.

Since then other family members have just gone off and got married. Best all round 🙂 🙂

Several of our circle of friends wish they had done as we did.

Sadly we cant make Wallingford,hoping to be at Stratford although its a bit close for us to have more than a weekend.
 
Old battery off, new one can wait to go on until I've recovered. New gas still in the car and there it can stay until J gets home from work. Now all that's left before Monday is to change the colour of the van and get what we're not taking out and then load. Looks like someone has a busy weekend ahead of her. 🙂
 
Just sat having a 'minute' after cleaning the van. (Beautiful morning here, seems to be worth paying the council tax) Did weekend in Derbyshire last weekend 80 miles all motorway each way. - God was there some road muck on it, all cleaned (looks a lot better) except the roof, I find it increasingly difficult (and frightening) to perch on the top of a set of steps with a gammy knee giving way at any time to reach the roof. Any clever 'Woosie' methods for getting up there. Or is it a case of what you can't see doesn't hurt? -- (Except in my case I can see it from house upstairs, dammit!)

Can you position the van such that you reach the van roof with a long-handled broom from the upstairs window? If not, keep the curtains shut so you can't see the muck. 😉
 
Thanks Graham, joking apart you helped me with the answer. Went back out to give the wife's car a once over and put the hose away. Looked at bedroom window. No, non runner really, but then realised if I put the van a yard+ nearer the house I could reach the van roof comfortably from the front porch/bay window flat roof. simples

I use one of these:

Look around and you'll find a better price. You can put the bucket of soap stuff on one end, climb up the other using the awning rail as support.
I also use the telescopic brush available on offer at caravan shows like this:

I use water from the water butt on the downpipes to rinse first using a garden sprayer, then wash with brush and soapy stuff, then rinse off by spraying from garden sprayer. That way the horrible white marks from tap water don't occur. I use a detail brush like the wheel cleaner to get round the hard to reach areas on the front of the caravan, locker door edges, awning rail edge etc.

Takes about 4 hours on a good day, but only needs doing once a year. Not only does the caravan look good, you get a super aerobic workout too 😛

You need to book individually for your stay at the Bridge Villa campsite within the next couple of days and a one nights deposit will be required.
Mention you are a part of the Woosie group.

I have just booked from April 27 until May 4.
The campsite knows that there is potentially a group of 5 caravans called the Woosies and that we would like to be sited together......they will do their best but don't offer a guarantee.
 
I've just booked Wallingford, arrive 28 Apr for 4 nights. Cost quoted £27 (pitch £25 + awning £2) as it's a Bank Holiday weekend. Is that what others have paid?

Edit - price is per night of course. 🙁

Just looked at dates of folks going, stated from start non BH for us. So couldn't have arrived til' 3rd. May, when by my calculations most of you will have departed. So sadly sorry, 'gunna' have to give this one a miss!

WC I told her two small dogs and a porch awning rather than a full one. Maybe £1.00 for my porch. Up to her I guess 🙂

Going to book Wallingford and Stratford, up tomorrow, caravan home on Saturday for the weekend, new Memory foam mattress fitted, battery recharged, aboit to go off to Moreton in t marsh and heared old Uncle is about to peg it so waiting to see how things go.Uncle Bob , would say, Go to the pub, . Will miss him when he goes. . So static again.
