Cheers DD bit of a mixed bag of reviews and most recent date was September last year so I suppose lots can have changed since then, I’m going to see what weather is doing tomorrow and might have a run out and have a look at the place, I’ll maybe give a report on the place once we’ve seen it for ourselves.

Hi DD, well we had a tootle up to much wenlock and thank gawd we did, the place we’d booked was not our sort of place at all and I’m afraid I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, thankfully we were due to pay on arrival so no financial loss, but the great news is we’ve visited and had a grand tour of Wheathill touring park and booked the last pitch available for bank holiday weekend, a cracking site, impeccable facilities, and helpful staff who walked us around the entire site before we booked, thanks for the recommendation, any info on surrounding things worth a visit I’d be happy to hear.

Good choice. The pub next door, The Three Horseshoes serves a great pint and excellent food. Ludlow is full of interesting shops and restaurants. They have a Tesco and Aldi near the station. Heading right out of the site towards Bridgnorth is the excellent Punchbowl Inn. All cooked on an AGA. Book in advance. Fills rapidly. Excellent cuisine at reasonable prices. Plenty of places to see and visit. Enjoy. :cheer:

So me, daughter and grandkids are at the van. OH is at home. Hence emptying the Woosie pot falls to me. Off I went and carefully put the screw on cap to one side so I didn’t knock it into the chemical waste point, because that would be stupid. Then emptied away. Not as bad as people make out, thinks I. Then in a manoeuvre that I won’t go into 
let’s just say Crass Stupidity, managed to loosen the grey sliding cover and drop it into the hole. Fortunately it lodged end up in the pipe, but a long way down. There was nothing for it but to run and grab the barbecue tongs and then go in. Face against the sides, arm down the pipe up to armpit, tongs deployed 🤢 🤢 Fortunately managed to grab and reinstate slider cover. Immediate trip to shower block followed.
So if our noble king is dispensing honours at the Fest, can I humbly nominate myself for the Order of the Arm. 🤔
BTW if anyone at the Fest is worrying about accepting barbecue food from us, said tongs are now in the bin.

I'm glad I'm not the only one this has happened to! I was slightly luckier though! Opening the blade to fill the cassette with water, I forgot that the sliding plate was not attached. Pointing the spout at the hole, off slid the plate towards oblivion. I must have moved quick enough as it bounced around and hit the low brick wall surround and landed in front of me. Phew. No witnesses either!!

We paid Woodthorpe Touring Park the balance of our pitch fee earlier today.
We're off with the caravan on this coming Sunday to stay on a nice certified site in Stevington Beds; ready to drive a couple of miles into nearby Clapham on Thursday for our annual trip to the Twinwood Festival where we are hoping to be joined by Deli Dave.
We like to go to Bedford for a few chill out days before the festival site opens on Thursday, we meet with some old Twinwood friends from Yorkshire who always pitch next door to us, and we go out for meals and get our groceries in because when I'm on the festival site with the alcohol flowing the car has a few days rest.
We'll be arriving for the Woosiefest on 11th September and we look forward to meeting up with friends old and new.
Carole had some reservations about staying in Lincolnshire after we went last year to Barton on Humber on what turned out to be a very bleak and cold February day, but I've told her of the delights of Lincoln, the Wolds and about the many fine old pubs which serve good food not too far from Woodthorpe.
She's started to warm to the idea now so it should be a good Woosiefest for me 🙂
