Just had a meetup with Gagakev and Maggs down in Cockwood near Dawlish.......nice meal at the Anchor Inn.
Those two are enjoying their motorhome and are now away in Somerset.
We have been on a 9 day CAMC rally at Dawlish enjoying great weather on a spacious no frills field. Back home tomorrow.
And a very enjoyable evening was had, nice meal with great company in the Devonshire sunshine.

Time to throw down the gauntlet!
How about end March early April 2026 . I have 11 sites, all near a hostelry and most FSP in Gloucestershire.
We can look at adjoining Counties too.
Who's up for it?👍👍
We're in if beginning of April, (cant do month ends).
And if you allow me to attend I promise I'll park my accommodation at the other end of the site so as not to compromise the streamlined looks of caravan's ;)

I have just purchased a 2026 calendar ( I am still analogue!) in order to put in a date for this.
It may be helpful to know that Easter Sunday is Sunday 5th April and Easter school holidays run from
March 27th to April 13th. ( At least near me)
Not saying we have to avoid those dates-just putting it out there for info.

The 2026 Woosiefest may be closer than we think!

Potential weekend data are 21/22 March 2026 or 18/19 April 2026. I expect most of us will stay a few days more , before and after the weekend . We will !
Your choice.
Initial sites that may fit the bill leads us to this first suggestion!

It is multi disciplined taking touring caravans, motor homes, tent , and the possibility of static, mobile home rentals.

Let me know if this is any good to you? If not we can look to get more Loyalty cards stamped up or why.
Cheers

We would love to come along though it may not be with the caravan.
Lily can meet some more of her adoring public👍

We often passed the Pepper Pot campsite on out way to Arlingham. Just down the road you have Atwoolls and in Cambridge the George Hotel.

What do you think of it?
Points out of 10?

I have three others that I and Hutch are considering so nothing is cast in stone yet.

My mistake. I was getting mixed up with the Apple Tree caravan park. We have passed the Pepper Pot on our wanderings. It is quite near to the M5 so could be noisy for some. However it is quite convenient to a number of places i.e. Sharpness, Berkely and Dursley.

I think they are trying to encourage use of FB so that they have a reason to shut down the forum not realising that many people are not subscribed to FB?
This I am sure is a conspiracy theory with no basis.

The only financial advantage I can see for Practical Caravan may be lower operating costs for the forum Admin, and avoidance of conflict with a changing legal framework.

But I have seen no forum admin coercion to move to FB or any other specific platform.

I have heard that there is a thing called the postal service where you can write a note, put an address on it, stick on a stamp and drop it into a red thing called a post box! in a few days your note magically appears on the recipient's door mat! amazing. Maybe one day some bright spark might invent a means of conveying the human voice over wires so you can actually talk and listen to others;)

In practice there are multiple social media systems that members could use for private messaging , and of course any one who has interacted with PCF must already have an Email.

If the owners of Practical Caravan wanted to shut down the forum they would do so whether FB existed or not.

Perhaps the Woosies would like to start their own website for Woosie event information and with a PM facility.

But Prof interacting via the forum PMs hasn’t required anyone to give out details of their email address, telephone or home address etc, unless they wished to. So the lack of PM does inhibit communication to some extent. But as said in a previous post by Admin PMs we’re rarely used. But there are other ways if people wish to use them. FB, WhatsApp being two. Once groups have been set up newbies people can decide whether or no to use them.

Looks a nice site. Static prices not too bad for minimum two night booking on your March date is £180 for up to four people. But unfortunately no dogs. 🙁

Have the dates on my calendar. Poised and ready to book. Reviews of the pepper pot do comment on motorway noise; although that is not a deal breaker for us.
As we will all be booking individually the lack of DM on this forum is not a problem. I guess that once arrangements are finalised there will be a shout out in the General section so that forumites who don’t read the Woosie Club thread can come along if they want.

You are a bit late to the party as discussed, done and dusted ages ago! By the way it is now the 21st century so no need to walk to the red box.

Sorry but the peper pot campsite is not for me.
Extremely close to the M5 on one side and a railway down another.
