Woosie Pure Malts🥃🥃

On top of the Sir Haggis pure Islay Malts , I am the lucky recipient of this rather fine Welsh offering. Matured in a Madeira cask , soft Welsh H2O, . Extremely smooth , more so than a Speyside. At 46% abv has a gentle but serious afterburn. I suspect Mel’s Roger knows the cask being a purveyor of fine Welsh Whisky.😉
The next Woosiefest is looking like next spring so I am proposing a decent tasting session. IMG_5807.jpeg

Our son who lives in south Wales always keeps a bottle in the sideboard, and the Penderyn Gin is very nice too, makes a lovely present for gin aficionados.

They do a nice selection, I have sampled a good few 😝 Also bought some for family, who also enjoy them

I do like Penderyn however I’m currently trying one made by a company more famous for its ale. I have to say it is rather nice and will be replenished with another for when we’re away next week.image.jpg

Apparently, there are a number of decent non Scottish Whisky’s about. At least that is what OH says, as he has made it his mission to discover them all. As far as Penderyn goes, his favourite is Penderyn Peated. He says it is a “subtle” Peated.
Can‘t stand it myself.
Mines a Prosecco. Although have recently discovered the yumminess of Limoncello

We went to the distillery many years ago and bought a bottle. It was cheaper to buy in the supermarket however the little bit that I tasted was very nice. BIL popped in to wish us Happy New Year and that was the end of the bottle that was supposed to be kept for our special occasions! At the time he was on duty, with a mate and in uniform. Lucky he was not driving. 🤣 🤣

If your into Hifi vinyl and would also like a free Highland Park 40 year old malt then get one of these....only £25k

I like the tasting notes. Particularly the Finish where it lingers forever. So long in fact that I’d need Gaviscon before bed. Last autumn a friend and I were talking drinks and I said that I now find some whiskies burn my throat and I had stopped drinking it. What did I get at Christmas a bottle of whisky single malt. That’s now been donated to my BILs care home for the summer fete raffle. Whilst a bottle of Bells just went in their drinks cupboard. Presumably better than medicating the residents. 😱

I have been given this by my daughter who lives in Wales but I found it nowhere near the standard of the Scottish ones of similar price in my opinion. A good try but I will stick to the Scotch.
