I think that the eligibility criteria to play for Scotland in Rugby or Soccer are pretty well the same for both sports. Being born in Scotland is only one of several criteria on which a selection can be made.
I believe it's the same criteria for all six nations countries, however Scotland appear to have a higher percentage, 21%, of "foreign" players. One of whom moved there to play for a Scottish team and as soon as he qualified moved away. Cynical Moi😉

Interestingly the Scotland captain”’s mother was of Scot’s -Italian descent. But looking forward to next weeks Kolkata Cup match. (Quite woke)
