we've got a VPN (Virtual Private Network) through a Raspberry pi then you can use your normal UK tv app.We use catchup TV which has a live section included and is free.
There are also VPN service providers you can use.
It has additional advantage of being secure for banking etc when you are on a public network

We are hopeful of getting a satellite picture though we are near Royan for the World cup.

DeliDave,

Where abouts near Royan are you staying? I am staying at Vaux-sur-mer from 14/06 until 28/06. As I will not be taking my TV, I can come and what the World Cup with you and I will supply the cheese and wine
Best regards, Lappy

Hi Lappy,we are at Le Rouge Gorge near Puy de Fou until 15th and then finding a site near Royan ,if you care to PM me a mobile I can update you and your welcome to share our misery .I've bought cheap flags and bunting from Aldi as I will be (pleasantly) suprised if I need to fly them after the 24th
Best wishes

DeliDave,

As I am on holiday I will certainly not be taking my mobile with me.
I am staying at a site called Val-Vert, which is in the caravan club overseas sites brochure, I am on a rally ran by the Avon centre of the caravan club and no doubt will already have my evening sorted by the rally officers, or the wife. I too don't hold much hope after the 24th, but my three children are flying down on the 21st, so will have some company to share my grief.
Hope you have a good time and will try to update you.
Best regards, Lappy

This is summer, then it's going to be bad again.

It isnt all bad news. The Brazilian passport people are on strike, England will be in Brazil longer than expected.

Dave .........just for reference purposes.

What size diameter sat dish are you using if you are still at that location?
A sky mini dish used to be fine .......I am wondering how the new satellite has affected things down there?

I'm using an 800 dish on a 5 foot pole to get clear of some trees we are on pitch 38 near the reception
It is awkward on some pitches as you'll probably be aware but we have a good signal, watching the England match as I post.I don't know if they were there when you stayed but they have concussive taps which take ages to fill an aquaroll.I have a services cabinet key which cost about £1.50 that works the cleaners tap by the toilets which is lots easier, Uruguay just scored a goal :(

Thanks Dave .....Yes shame about the water taps and the England result :(

You may be interested in this camp site if you don't know it ........we prefer it to Camping L'Océan
However they do not accept twin axle caravans!
