wurmi pegs

Has anyone used Wurmi awning pegs? How easy are they to use and are there any other good screw-in awning pegs around?

I have posted this before, but for a lady :- look in screwfix.com search for turbo coach screws then pick what size you require.10 x 160 work well and are a lot cheaper than awning pegs, 5.81p for 50 of them,

let me know how you get on.

I tried screw pegs, which are supposed to be for any terrain. They struggled on hard standing gravel and I still finished up belting one or two with a lump hammer.. But on the whole, they are not too bad. Screw pegs have a website, just google the name screw pegs and it will come up. They are based Devon area

I've used Wurmi for about 3 years, wouldn't use anything else.

Found that Screwpegs and Screwfix threads are not coarse enough.

pam,wurmi pegs are brill,nothing comes close,people always watch me drill them into the ground and they always create attention.

just watch how quick you and peg,or should i say drill them in

worth every penny,think they have 2 tpes,one wascalled treking and they do a smaller one as well

I use Screwpegs and find them great. Unlike Andrew I haven't had to use an hammer, just my drill, but no doubt now I will come across a pitch that will challenge them. The slate base pitches that they use at Beddgelert forestry commission site would probably defeat them because it was bad enough thumping the normal pegs in, thats probably why there was a plentiful supply of rocks and people were using these on the awning skirt.

Am lookimg to get into screwpegs having spent far too long with a hammer in my hand setting up on our last trip! I see on the Wurmi website they suggest drilling pilots holes in harder ground. Have you had to do this?

I would ideally like one set of pegs for all pitches and am wondering if steel screwpegs would be a safer bet?
