Hi There,

Its looking like we will try Yellowcraig CC site this spring. The views people have given us have convinced us to give it a try.

Other than Edinburgh, and the beach down the road from the site, what other attractions or places to visit and see nearby would you recommend.

Also I have noticed that this site does not seem to have many hardstanding pitches, I know people have said that the ground here is good at draining but any further info appreciated.

Another quick question: Is this site very windy as i've noticed you can go windsurfing inthis area, if it is windy does it cause any problems on site.

we are a family of 2 adults and 2 children.

Many Thanks

Andrew.

There are a fair few hardstandings there now, they seem to multiply year on year there! The ground is pretty much self draining anyway so I wouldn't be too worried if you end up on a grass pitch.

The site itself is reasonably sheltered but again it depends on where you pitch. Never had a problem with this personally even in the more open areas. Most pitching areas are surrounded by man made dunes or trees so you will be fine.

Loads to do. Sea bird centre in North Berwick, Myreton motor museum, East Fortune air field, loads of little seaside villages to mooch round etc

We love it.

Would echo the comments above. We use this site 3 or 4 time a year due to location as the beach is great. The hardstanding pitches tend to fill up quickly, particularly on a Friday, so best to try and arrive as early as possible if this is your preferred choice.

The castle in Dirleton is also worth a look and if you have kids East Links Family Park near Dunbar is worth a visit.
