That's a good question and there seems to be split in GRP and aluminium from manufacturers. We've just broght a new van which is GRP, even the underside of the floor! My guess is that GRP is stronger and more damage resistant and doesn't need painting. Like yours, our old van was aluminium...

My advice, in plain terms, is to look at vans that are an 85% match with the tow car, especially if this is your first one. That's 85% at Max Technical Permissible Laden Mass, not running order. There are plenty to look at, and surely there is one out there for you.

I'm sure Prof will know the answer, but I'm guessing that you could reject the van as not fit for purpose, especially as it's already been repaired. I'm unsure whether this will fall under the sale and supply of goods act or the consumer credit act. Prof???

Hopefully nothing Martin!! We'll have the van at home for a couple of weekends before the first outing so plenty of time to figure out how it all works ...... I'll even read the instruction manual!! :P

Wow, that is good service. If only mote dealers were like it. I think I shared my experience with the Vauxhall dealer following some issues with their customer service that resulted in them doing this years service free of charge and saving me £500 It's all about telling them what you expect...
