Who's found their perfect van layout? No ifs. No buts...

I've only heard good things about Fleetwoods Collin and it looks like a nice caravan if it suits your way of use. How can there be a perfect layout? We all have different needs and use criteria, nice van your choice but would be of little use to us! We often use our caravan with my parents...

IS IT OK TO TUBULAR HEAT VAN INSTEAD OF DRAINING DOWN??

Ladies and Gentlemen If we were new to caravanning, I could possibly ignore the design issues with draining down a Carver and the lack of "safety" instructions in the user manual. A few caravans down the line from our first hot water equipped van and with a caravan mileage that must exceed...

IS IT OK TO TUBULAR HEAT VAN INSTEAD OF DRAINING DOWN??

At last someone with a bit of practical common sense. The only time we've had trouble with water being pumped is when we re fill after a winter drain down! You've put in technical terms what we have always known to be the case Lutz. Thankyou Ria

IS IT OK TO TUBULAR HEAT VAN INSTEAD OF DRAINING DOWN??

Yes yes right on! James and I remember having first Carver heater in the early 90's, we lived in Germany, my parents would tow our caravan from England and meet us in France for a summer touring and we would colme home and tour in the van. Our Caravans have covered high mileages due to James's...

IS IT OK TO TUBULAR HEAT VAN INSTEAD OF DRAINING DOWN??

Collin. Just drain down for winter and keep the van warm if you have that option! As for John L, I guess some will believe his record, but on this forum I'm not so sure with some of the threads I've seen (nothing personal John L). I don't believe that caravan manufacturers build such flimsy...

    Kids?

My mum and I are taking my nieces children in the caravan at half term. By the time they have been to the beach and played boules and been in and out of the pool, with all the fresh air they will be knocked out like us :) Ria

    Overweight caravaners.

What you boys do in private is your affair. I caravan in the sun not in the rain. Just a little collection would be fine ;) Ria

IS IT OK TO TUBULAR HEAT VAN INSTEAD OF DRAINING DOWN??

Carver Instructions say- "When the caravan is STORED during the WINTER it must be drained down" "REMOVE the drain plug and STORE in a safe place" Even I know that you do not have gallons of water sloshing around due to the way the heater works and is constructed! Some must spend to long in...

IS IT OK TO TUBULAR HEAT VAN INSTEAD OF DRAINING DOWN??

I was joking John L ;) Carver do recommend draining down, but only for winter! I got out our Carver user instructions and installers instruction for fitting and testing that came within our caravan pack. Reading both manuals they only advise to drain down for winter or in freezing weather not...

I've washed and awning in the bath after we had been pitched under trees in Italy. Just keep turning it to drain and dry off spread out in the garage is fine. Ria

    Urgent Help Needed Please!!!

Make sure the tow hitch is not pushed in. It could still be pushed back from reversing the van. Make sure it is pulled out and see if pulling parking brake up and down free's up the wheels. We never leave the parking break on when not in use. Ria
