Agreed, I think they've risen quite a bit over the last couple of years. I fact looking at our 2 week trip for mid June, the tunnel is working out only marginally more expensive, so will probably go via that instead.

I've had a similar problem with being stuck, when I kept the van on my back lawn, I ended up buying a bigger jockey wheel with wide tyre to spread the weight a bit more, as it's alot ow weight over a small contact area. Also found some wide scaffold planks and some old carpet helped to get it...
