Hi all, ihave just bought a '94 discovery which already has the trailer socket, but no socket for the fridge/charger.

Could any of you advise the best place to take this supply from.

Many thanks, Tim.

The best thing is to buy a kit from Towsure etc complete with instructions and correct gauge wire and to wire direct from the Battery via an in-line fuse.Have a look at www.towitall.co.uk for pretty pictures and useful gen. Its very important with the heavy current to the fridge to use heavy enough cable for the feed and the earth.

The best way on this vehicle is to take a 6mm feed from the main fuse box feed terminal which is on the bulkhead just uder the clutch pedal, fuse this at 30 amps run the wire along the chassis or fish it inside the chassis to the rear quarter panel in side here fit a voltage sensing relay ( Smartcom) about

You should of course have a relay in the fridge lead so that current is only drawn from the car when the alternator is charging but if you purchase a kit it will come complete with relay and instructions. I would avoid using Scotchlocks as they can give trouble due to the small area of contact.
