Hi On some sites you will need an adaptor available from all caravan stores, or over the web. The adaptor basically plugs in to your UK 3 pin plug at the end you usally plug in to the bollard, and converts it to a continental 2 pin plug which some of the older sites still use. You will find a lot now that use the UK 3 pin plugs as we use here. The only other bit of kit to help is a polarity tester. Sometimes live and nutral are the wrong way round abroad. If this is the case you may need to re wire the adaptor plug (switch neutral and live) to correspond with the site's wiring. Alternatively, buy a 2nd adaptor and reverse the wiring so you have 1 of each. Hope this helps.

Get the Caravan Club Europe 1 touring guide - best site guide there is and it also contains a wealth of information about electrics, site rules, money, tolls etc. Site reports are very largely written by members who tend to tell it how it is, sot how the owners may want it reported.

Volume 1 covers France Spain Portugal - Volume 2 the rest. CC website also has lots of good info on tyre rules etc.

Don't let this put you off - you will not believe how relaxing it can be - I'll bet now the worst bit of the trip will be from the ferry back to your house.
