Hi martin, the manufacturer interogating the ecu is the reason i paid more and purchased the dms dual sytem.

The dual sytem is a module that dms plug in to your car when you first buy it and they upload a copy of the ecu's original map to the module.

They then write a modified map to another part of the module and give the module to the customer.

all you do if you are taking the car to the dealer is plug the module in to the dignostics socket and select standard map press go and wait untill the ok light comes on.

the module flashes the ecu so all previous data is lost and the standard map is once again in place.

the clever bit is the module does not ever erase the mileage or serial number data so the dealer is non the wiser.

It is a clever piece of kit but i wont ever be using one again. not that i need it the new S max has more than enough torque to cope with the van.
