al ko chassis.help & advise

hi everyone....help please.i have a new ace award firestar with the al ko chassis,i also had a powrmover fitted.

The gap beteen the tyre and roller when in the off position, appears to alter.one side the gap is getting wider, whilst the opposite gap is getting smaller. The engineer from powrmover has checked and re-adjusted,and he suggests that all is well,as far as the mover and fittings etc,and i am inclined to agree.

Is it possible for the caravan axle to be on the move, say just twisting from its mountings?

many thanks,nigel c.

Hi Nigel

I'm afraid that I can't answer your question with any degree of certainty so I'll try to bump it back near to the top so that a more technically qualified person might see it.

it would seem to me the mover on one side is moving forward, pivoting on the other side and hence that side gets closer.

So can the axle move on it's own, I'd say no chance, can that side of the chassis and the axle move? possible but very doubtful.

I have to say the most common reason for this is the movers mounting sliding back under the pressure when engaged.

Easiest way to find out is mark chassis to floor and chassis to mounting bracket, next time it moves it will show by on of the marks being out of alignment
