Camping La Filature at Ebreuil (under Gannat in CC European Handbook 1). This is a in my opinion a gem of a site. Run by an english couple, the site is based around an orchard but with open areas as well if preferred. A trout river, the Sioule, runs alongside the site with trout fishing available if that is your thing (it is mine!) The site is rustic, yes the "facilities" could do with an upgrade but they are clean. There is a small intimate bar, and Jane provides pre-ordered "take away" suppers. There is plenty of birdlife in and around the site, which is quiet to the extreme. Ebreuil village is a 10 mins walk away and has a small supermarket as well a a butcher, baker etc. Gannat, about 5 miles away, provides all the amenities of a town with a number supermarkets, restaurants etc. La Filature accepts the ACSI card.
