Awning Dents

I have a few small dents on the side of my van where unfortunatley the awning poles have hit , is there an easy way of removing them or do i have to take it to a dealer or panel beater/sprayer to repair and how much will it cost

its a professional job sadly, i dont know if you know any one that runs a "chips away" but they have the technology to fill and touch up the dents.

I wouldnt worry about the dents, they are accepted as the norm when you trade in.You could re-position the reflectors if they are lower down,if you have it repaired im sure people would notice a repair on aluminimum sides?

If it makes you feel any better - we have just returned from our weekend away and just used the large awning as oppose to our porch one with flexi type poles and the pole slipped and dented the van in 3 places (van less than 6 months old) totally sick! But then I thought it must happen all the time and your question has reassured me.

We damaged the rear of our caravan, which was repaired under the insurance policy, and at the same time our local dealer (Dickinsons) in Bradford filled and sprayed half a dozen dents caused by the awning poles. They did say that one of their staff 'specialised' in repairing such dents. You can't tell where the work was done, at all, and even though we thought we knew where they were there's no visible difference in finish, shine, or colour.

If it really bothers you then ask your local dealership how much it will cost.
