B+E License????

Help

I have a Licence Post 1997 Which does not have the E cat attched, Has anyone done this and if so what is it like?

Also for anyone that has not done it, the MTPLM of my van is 1350Kgs, What cars can i use without upgrading My license, I currently have a BMW528 Touring but I am considering a change.

Thanks in advance

Jonny

If you passed your test since the 1 January 1997 then you are restricted to the entitlement of licence category B, which restricts you to driving a vehicle with a MAM of up to 3,500kg and towing a trailer of 750kg - or a heavier trailer or caravan as long as the combined MAM of vehicle and caravan/trailer does not exceed 3,500kg and the MAM of the caravan/trailer does not exceed the unladen weight of the tow vehicle.

Hi

Thanks for the reply, I am confused however, Do i look at the kerbweight of the vehicle or the gross weight? My current car has a Kerbweight of 1700Kgs and a Gross weight of 2150Kgs, and the van is 1350Kgs (MTPLM) so is the MAM of the outfit 3500 Kgs or 3050Kgs?

Thanks
