Berker 12 volt Cigar Socket and Satellite Point Anthracite W4 Caravan 21229A

Why do you want second hand when on EBay used is only £3 cheaper than a brand new one
Good Question, Simple answer, I am cutting out the 12v socket to instal an RJ45 socket and dont want to scrap something i pay £40 - £50 for. Thats why i am asking the community.

Good Question, and a simple answer, As i have no other available positions i wish to convert the current TV/SAT sockets to the SAT/12v socket and convert it. I still need the TV socket and i prefer to use the screw fixing to connect a tv ariel. I see your point of view. i have blanks, i have F connectors, i have hole saws, just wanted a easy option but a very good point, cost me nothing then,

The Belling-Lee (i.e. TV) aerial socket is just a panel mounted F-type adapter. All you need is a F-type outlet bulkhead jack-jack i.e that has a F-type socket on both ends and replace the existing.

Hi, thanks for the reply.Yes, I have the F‑connectors.

My project is: I am running Ethernet in the caravan, and I need to fit an RJ45 panel‑mount socket as well.

The reason I asked for thehttps://forums.practicalcaravan.com/attachments/s-l1600-1-webp.10432/?_gl=119vvw53_upMQ.._gaMTU2MTMwODYwNC4xNzc2NTE0ODkx_ga_1JCMYRPXYF*czE3NzY1MTQ4ODgkbzEkZzAkdDE3NzY1MTQ4ODgkajYwJGwwJGgw was to knock out the 12v socket and fit my RJ45 socket, as I have done with two previous 12v sockets, to great success.

But where this final cable is going, I do not have free spaces, hence I was going to use the aforementioned socket. However, having had input from GUMPY, I’m going to attempt the conversion of a blank plate.

I have to ask:
Why?

I am a great believer in cable connections and run everything possible over Ethernet at home to get maximum bandwidth and speed.
However:
Everything in our van is on 5ghz WiFi which is always faster than my 4g/5g internet connection. I did come close once with a 500mbps 5g connection😉

Why Not! Cable is much better. simple.
If you only have one thing to connect.
Otherwise it means adding a network switch and network adapters for things like Firesticks and Roku. Which adds complication.
Says the man with 4 network switches in his house and two Roku plus a fire stick all with adapters on them.
