Jules, sorry gotta defend the Freelander TD4, every time you look at reviews of a comparible 4 x 4 it always says consider a Freelander. The TD4 engine is great and yes they had problems earlier on but most have been ironed out now. They aint bad off road either.....and can anyone out there tell me of a more economical 4 x 4 ???....don't think there is one !

Have a look at a Freelander they are pretty good really !!

Last weekend I did Stafford to Fort William, about 360 miles on 40 quids worth of fuel, 260 miles were done at 70....er and the odd 80 mph. If you work that out it aint bad going. However the new Jeep which has just been brought out is pretty good.
