Best route Rhyl to Borth

Hi Just wondering if anyone has any experience from travelling from the Rhyl area to Borth area (Aberystwyth).

I`m going to Borth for a week this Saturday and not sure which will be the best way to travel.

I could do the Betws-y-coad way,(a470 or A5)Dolgellau or I could do the St asaph/Denbigh/bala/ Dolgellau way or I could do the Welshpool/Newtown way.

Anybody got any advice

Thanks

Pete

HI WE ALSO LIVE IN RHYL, PERSONALLY I WOULD GO TO WREXHAM ON THE A55 TO THE A483 THEN GET THE A5 ETC AS WITH A VAN ON GOING BETWS Y COED OR ACROSS THE MOORS WOULDN'T REALLY BE IDEAL, I KNOW IT WOULD BE A LONGER WAY ROUND BUT PERSONALLY IT WOULD BE EASIER THAN GOING DOWN THE COUNTRY ROADS.

Hi Samantha,

Thanks for the advice, I think I will go Wrexham/Welshpool way. It will add about an hour on the journey but Like you say much better roads to pull a caravan on.

Thanks

Pete

Rhyl A55,A470 to Bettws then B Festiniog-Dolgellau-etc

Superb route scenically and towing it is a doddle.

Only dodgy bit is towing through the centre of B.Festiniog but you can avoid it by taking the town by pass.

Wrexham-Oswestry-Newtown is Ok but boring in comparison.
