I've just gone on P&O to get prices for 5 days away with van.

No choices came up and every time I have tried all cost £100 each way.

Is there a fix going on. Offer said from £30. Ha, I know it's more with the van but that's rediculous.

any one had anything cheaper come up?

Hello Smiley

I have just done a basic check on CC website.

Using criteria - Car 5.0m L/1.5m H, van 6.0mL 2.5mH, 2 adults

Out 13/07/09 approx 0900. In 17/7 1800.

cheapest LD&Norfolkline 128.00GBP. P&O 167.00GBP. Tunnel/seafrance 213.00GBP

Out 17/08/09 0900 in 21/08/09 1800, caravan car details as above

LD 128.00GBP, Norfolkline/P&O 167.00GBPTunnel 210.00GBP, Seafrance 225.00.

I dont know when you want to go but as you can see by the above quotations vary considerably, you may be able to lower the quote by choosing unpopular times to travel or avoiding week ends, Good luck

Just one side comment. Do check what your actual height is. I did for my van and it is listed as 2.56 meters, not 2.5. Now I am sure that the extra 0.06 meters will not make great deal of difference but I would not like to lose the skylight on a beam or something. I increased my height to the next group, and it was the same price

thought we would take the kids for about 5/6 days easter time.

Haven't even thought about summer yet, so much to do at home.

Hello Smiley just done the same checksame criteria as before with the van but added 2 children

Easter weekend thursday - monday limited availability but prices were 162.00GBP norfolkline, P&O/LD 176.00GBP sea france 225.00GBP

Monday to friday either side of the weekend were LD 123.00GBP P&O 148.00GBP, Norfolkline 162.00GBP, Sea france 225.00GBP, Tunnel 260.00GBP

Please note that this is a quick check and you should put in more accurate details to achieve an accurate quote

I Would reccommend a phone call to the CC travel service as they can look at different times easily and costs may come down

hope this helps - Alb

Hi,

Incase anyone else reads this old thread. Thought I would mention that P&O normally permit caravans to go free on a SAT & SUN. I use the Hull/Zeebrugge route frequently, cheaper than driving down to Dover for us in Scotland. Plus after a refereshing overnight stay in the cabin and a good breakfast, it sets us up for our onward journey thru France/Spain etc.
