Bring back the stickers !!

How about the good lads and lassies at practical caravan issuing a couple of stickers for us loyal fans.

The first being a Practical caravan reader sticker incorporating a spot for us to put our names if we want.

The second. A fuel price protest sticker as yet again fuel is on the up and up and up, while we as a country are on our knees.

So come on, what do you lot think?

I have just received my '25 year loyalty' sticker from the CC. Would that suffice? Mind you I would have been more appreciative of a few site vouchers, but I assume that is asking too much. I did consider the money I had 'invested' in the CC over the last 25 years, and it adds up. As I also did not have either a caravan or motorhome for 8 of those years they received money for a freebie.

Should I attach it to the van? Will it make the CC wardens smile upon me and welcome me to their site? Probably not.

Well Val it isn't as zany as it seems.

We all chat here on the forum and exchange views, but how do you know that the van next to you isn't a forum contributor.

People having a like-minded hobby be it caravanning or talking via forums are not necessarily "anoraks" or "tufty club" people.

All too often these days people don't mind shouting from the sidelines but when it actually come to putting their heads above the parapit, they run a mile.

To me, caravanning is about making friends, having a good conversation and being totally classless.

Regards.

sounds like it could be a recipe for a punch-up, I don't really take the caravaning forum instant friends thing seriously, real friends take years to cultivate...though I have met some cracking people off forums in the past.

I got my ten year sticker a couple of years ago, after wondering to stick it on the van or not I finally stuck it in the bin, agree a site night voucher would not have gone amiss

Dear All.

When we gave stickers away with the magazine last year, loads of people hated them!

I'll look into the possibility of a forum sticker and get back to you. No breath holding though. There's a recession on...

;-)

I started some stickers for my own forum due to them being requested and they were more popular than I expected. Not only does it advertise my forum but it lets other members spot you.

As for the Fuel Protest stickers, you can get them from http://www.petrolprices.com/

If you're spotted with one of these stickers, you can win a free tank of fuel.

Well Caroline, you could basically stick the sticker where you like so long as it is sensible.

I would put mine on the gas locker of our van so that folks could see I am a practical caravan fan. After all we should be proud of what has been achieved on this forum and how the magazine has followed our suggestions from time to time. There will always be articles and topics that rile people from time to time, but thats what free speach is all about.

There's an old adage, "you can please some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people al of the time".

Most level headed people would welcome a friendly debate around the barbie an a glass or two of plonk to lubricate the tonsils.

You don't need a sticker on your van steve in Leo,you sound like the ultimate caricature of a caravanner. If I ever see someone sitting outside in an ill fitting aran jumper wearing one of those peaked denim caps covered in pin badges with a rambling stick full of plaques of obscure places I will know its you!!!

P.S. what about a pennant collectors club, that would be fab???

Stickers all round for everyone ! Just put them in a safe place so that you can use them to camouflage the next minor bump on the side of your beloved van. Of course you might need to use them straight away if your van is looking a bit battered ! It would make a nice change from using the usual yellow, red or white reflectors. Surely we've all done it - I know I have ??

Just remembered the old "bullet hole" stickers - they would look great. How about tiger tails on the grab handles at the back or owners names in the front windows?

Sir Roger got satellite working many thanks PC should commision an article from you
Deli Dave I guess you must come from India or somewhere with a name like that.

If you happen to pass by Buggram Hall at anytime do drop in and Im sure I can find you a drop of Earl Grey.

Regards Sir Roger

It would be good to know if others from this forum were sharing the same site. Often, when I've seen neigbours, I've wondered if it might be......? It also surprises me how few fellow caravanners know about this site. They probably think that we a a sad bunch of van anoraks !!!

Where do you put the stickers exactly? You dont wear them on your coat do you?
No Caroline - you may have borrowed a coat and may be identified by the wrong name. The stickers are to be worn slap in the middle of your forehead, therefore nobody can mistake who you are if they want to shake your hand and discuss postings.....

If you put your Caravan Club sticker in the window you will be sure to have something in common with other people on the site, more so if it is a Caravan Club site.

OMG, seems there's a severe case of stickeritis on here... I've just noticed other posts about long vehicle stickers too.... has the forum gone mad?

Hi Val.

Don't have an arron jumper or a thumb stick yet. Have to admit to the baseball caps and Green, red and white wooly hats with red dragons on though.

I'm not the regimented CC type either, instead I prefer good old tidy but nice.

Socialising and good old fashioned conversation is where you'll find me.

To me, meeting thefaces of the forum would be quite "interesting".

ATB.
