Hello Andrea
Probably not the answer you are looking for, have looked at the website for Burns. Why not stay at C and CC Keswick site, right beside Derwentwater. It's great for sailing, canoeing very family friendly, just off Keswick town which is lovely, handy for Booths supermarket. Have stayed here several times and never been disappointed. Goes without saying the views from site are stunning here too!!!
Enjoy the Lake District where ever you go

Stayed here last August or an extended weekend. Nice site but we had some appaling weather whilst we were there so we probably didn't see it at its greatest. Felt sorry for some of the small backpapers and other tenters who had to endures some very heavy downpours over the weekend. The pitches and site stood up to the wet weather relatively well though. The washrooms are relatively new.
Super location for walking and sightseeing and we would certainly like to go back again, hopefully in better weather conditions.
Interesting to note on other posts about the cost of the price increases in the CC club site fees. This site does offer decent pitch sizes with some cracking views (when the mist and rain lift!) for a value price close to a prime location in the Lakes.
