I,ve just had my first weekend away with our new towcar,as above. We tow an ABI brooklyn 490/5 mtplm 1300kgs. It,s a brilliant towcar and am very happy with it. Bit sore on juice but really relaxing to drive.I have a weak back and left leg so found driving it a joy. This is my second c-max,last one was 1.8 manual, also great.Ive seen a few more c-max cars being used as tow cars,any body else any comments.

We got a 2liter TDI zeteck C-max which we have used now for the past 2 years and 10 mouths for run about and as a tow car.

It's been a great car and at times it has seemed to have been a bit heavy on the dissel at times.

The bad bit is that we are swapping it soon.

Yes its going to be a nether C-max just newer and a different colour.

So it must be ok.

Hi Mark and Sharon, ours is a petrol model but still love it,it,s the new aquaris blue,lovely colour. We had a black one before,nightmare to keep clean.

I am interested in your views of the 2.0l C-Max Auto petrol as a tow car, at the moment i am on my 2nd 2.0TDCi Ghia which i love and is a great tow car in my opinion, but i would love an auto,I'm becoming lazy in my old age (44)!!! does the auto have an oil cooler? I know the Road tax is more expensive i'm trying to find reasons fot "she who must be obayed" to justify swapping mine in when the face lift version comes out,by the way i tow a Bailey Pageant Moselle with a MTPLM of 1278kg having had a 4X4 2 cars before the C-max tows my van with ease and is very stable.

Hi Michael,

I honestly dont know if it has an oil cooler. I have become disabled in the last few years and got my car through the motability scheme, so I dont pay car tax.The tdci comes with an auto box as well,, you could try it.
