So far, my plan has been to use locations I am happy with. Just as I plan my approach to a CL using Google maps, so I plan my charging. Classic services are not so good for the exact reason you state. Supermarket chargers (rapid) are good as you can often find lots of space in the carpark for the van. Leaving the car unattended while charging is fine. The van we tend to always leave with at least one occupant, while the other(s) shop / use the loo etc. Very similar to a motorway services type stop. Some places are better than others. Duckmanton M1J29A and Skelton in Leeds - both excellent. Lots of chargers and decent sized car parking.

I wish I had gone for the manual Hutch.
Maybe squeeze a few more mpg out of it.
Ive got the auto and getting about 30mpg around town(taking it steady).

Ade my friend got the manual car that i have he gets a lot more to gallon when he is towing 36 -38mpg

BB, A lot of modern autos actually achieve the same mpg as their manual counterparts. Most have 8/9 gear ratios with either DSG or fluid torque converters all of which fully lock up once on the move, just like a manual clutch.

DD So far with my car i not getting anywhere near 36- 38 mpg towing
My car is 7 gear DSG when towing 30 -32mpg but it only done 11,000 miles when it got more miles will it give more to the gallon?

BB, There are so many variables , eg actual vehicle, caravan, driver, route variations it’s very hard to make accurate comparisons.

Just remember that when i am towing 30-32
But i get between 45-50 around town

I think that it is to use an old phrase “ well run in” by now.
