hi just changed my car bought a 1995/6 susuzki vitara 2ltr v6 estate. can anyone tell me if i can tow my ace/abbey award globestar caravan with this? some sites say yes some say no! please help novice at caravans

Hello Alfie,

As ever do not rely on third party web sites for technical information about cars and caravan weights. Some sites do have errors or incomplete model ranges ( see below) Always check the weight limits of both the car and caravan with the manufactures data plates on the vehicles or the hand books, or directly from the manufacture.

My sources suggest that the 2L petrol Manual version is good for 1850Kg but he auto version is on rated to 1700Kg

Unfortunately my data base does not include the ABI Award Globestar so I cant assess the weight of van you have.

As novices it is wise to limit the caravan to a much lower weight until you have gained some experience.

Check out how to load a caravan to achieve the best distribution and get the correct nose load.
