Car Wheel Sizes

I know it seems a bit of a naive question but here goes....

Does the wheel size fitted to the tow car affect the ride height of the caravan i.e. the tow ball height ?

I have an X trail fitted with 17" wheels but I'm sure the standard ones are 16".

I'm looking to change it for a Freelander 2 but have seen them advertised with 17", 18" and even 19" wheels.

It's not the wheel size that determines any change to ride height, but the tyre size. you could have a larger wheel, but compensate that by fitting lower profile tyres. This is normally the case.

Before you buy Freelander 2 have a look on this website www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/ look under freelander 2 REF Power steering it would seem land rover have one hell of a problem with it on this model which they cannot over come.

Stephen - thanks for that it made interesting reading.

I hadn't picked this up on any caravan forums.
