Caravan Club Kinlochewe

Anybody been to the Kinlochewe club site at Achnasheen - we are thinking of going next year but it seems a bit remote - is there much to see and do in the area?

Kinlochewe is a site for sightseeing, hill walking and the like. There are no towns nearby so spending money in shops is not an option! It can be rather midge-infested in the summer months. I seem to remember hearing that the toilet block has been refurbished. In brief, the site is in a fantastic location but it's not one of the best CC sites. The road from Achnasheen to Kinlochewe was upgraded in the last year or so and is excellent.

It's a personal favourite because of the location Some people hate it because it's all hardstanding. As we arrived one year another newly arrived couple who had driven all the way from the Midlands where negotiating with the warden to ring Morvich to see if they could get in there, they hated the site that much. We don't use the shower block and they certainly hadn't got that far for that to put them off !

What is there to do ? Not very much if you don't like walking but you can visit Gairloch and the famous Inverewe Gardens, take a boat trip, do a bit of fishing....typical Scottish stuff. You don't go to be entertained but go for the ming boggling beauty of the place.Kinlochewe is in such a location but also has a useful village shop, petrol filling station plus shop and pub within minutes walk
