Caravan damper stick in the draw tube

Hi all, i need your help with damper replacement.

So we have purchase Caravan Compass Magnum Classic Mendip, damper is in need to change for new one , but the problem is we can’t take it off this draw tube, is slightly moving inside but that’s it .. so we dismantle whole thing off the caravan.



Please can someone advice?

I’ve actually manage to take it off , there was some bolt inside when you look through the hole

Hi. Could you give me anymore information on the location of the bolt please? We've got a 2001 Elddis 505 on a BPW chassis and have run in to the same problem. I took out the rear bolt and tube and took the stabiliser off expecting the damper to just pull out, only to he greated by a clunking sound! We've contacted 2 local caravan engineers. One completely ghosted us and the second has been really honest and said he can't promise he can actually get it off as it's a strange design. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thank you, I do appreciate the reply but that's not the same as ours. That is actually the video that made me take ours apart in the first place as it looked really simple. I've been going through Youtube and not seen a single one with the same drawtube and damper set up like ours. The rear bolt isn't connected to the actual damper. It seems to have a pin halfway down that I'm unable to get to.
