Re Bill's comment. One thing to consider is - how do you disconnect the friction drives which run against the tyres, if you only have 4 inches space down one side? It is imperative that these are disabled after use otherwise they can damage the tyre. It is possible to release both drives from one side of the van simultaneously, with an optional connecting bar. Otherwise, with care, you should be able to do what you want provided it's a reasonably flat and even surface.
My Reich mover has a soft start........if you are short of space the only one to consider is the powertouch model as it is the only one with a smooth start. i only have 2 inches to spare either side of my van on the drive and the carver system was just too unpredictable. we changed to the powerwheel and found it to be an absolute jem. it comes with a five year warranty and is fitted by theire own engineers so no warranty troubles. it is far superiour to hitch head movers which tend to slip and slide with a heavy van (i have a coachman laser 590/4 at 1710kg )and as one reader has already stated the reich is too big and close to the floor.
easy mistake to makeJohn,
I believe that you mean Powrtouch, the Powerwheel is a hitch mounted mover.
