Caravan pull in on A30

Somebody mentioned a large pull in suitable for caravans, for an overnight stop, somewhere on the A30 in Cornwall, possibly near Launceston.

It is just off the road and apparently has a burger van there in the mornings. Does anybody have any idea where it is exactly, as it sounds useful to break up the journey.

I have tried google but had no luck.

Jo, I am pretty certain that throughout Cornwall there are bye laws prohibiting overnighting in all laybys, and you will be moved on by the Police if you attempt to stay all night.

Much better and safer to find a cl or cs for an overnight stop.

Jo there is a large parking area at Souton cross (turning off A 30 for Tavistock) there is a cafe come burger shack there, public toilets and ample parking

Damien,

The Lay Byes on the A30 particularly between Exeter and Launceston are designed to get you right off the carriageway and are used frequently by truckers and caravanners to use as intended, ie rest stops. I cannot see the police (who are invariably not the statutory enforcers of Council By Laws) knocking on doors of caravans to move them on. They have better things to do.

Unless you are a traveller then you can have a week or ten days free holiday and leave all your refuse for someone wlse to pick up( only joking of course)
