Hello

I'm in the process of renovating my 1991 Abbey 214 GTs and am thinking about new wallpaper but can't see how to take down the cabinets. There aren't any obvious brackets or screws to remove, are they fitted from behind?

As I understand it, most modern caravans are built from the inside out.

The furniture is assembled in situe, the walls added, then the roof. And I think it is mainly done with glue, not screws and brackets.

When working on my Swift Rapide I had to remove the cabinets from the outside (they were screwed through the wall). There is no way of removing them from the inside that I could see (without taking a leaf out of Clarksons book and usinga big hammer).

Can't help with your problem of removing fitted cupboards but this may be of help when working in the bathroom. Years ago I owned an Abbey 214 GTS (1985 model) which had damp in the bathroom. After a complete renovation I used PVA straight from container to be the best method to apply wall paper to interior as it will withstand low winter temps. better than a water based paste.

Thanks but i've already dealt with the bathroom walls and used PVA as the adhesive which I would have continued to use around the van but it looks like I'm not going to be able to remove the cabinets and I feel cutting the paper around them would not look too good so I think I may not be going this far
