Hi All,

Take a look at the link.

And what do you do after you've received the SMS message?

Call the police?

And what will they do?

Give you a crime reference number?

As far as I know the police will only respond to trackers monitored 24/7 by a control centre such as Phantom, Tracker etc.

I guess its the same as if you get your car stolen, at least you will know its location at all times to guide then!

It will text you if someone has broken in also I believe.

I will be buying one its better than not have one at all, my Swift is my pride and joy.

I welcome your thoughts though.

I know there is a product coming out which is aimed at anything which moves. It does the same because it texts you a message and you can see it's location via your phone browser or PC. But the police or any of the emergency and recovery services can track the device using secure protocols given by the manufacturer. I know it works in Canada very well and will be in Europe later this year. I work with the company who manufacture this product as we use their GPS datalogging for racing and track mapping.

So monitored devices like Tracker are not the only ones which the Police will service but they do have to have the faciliy to track themselves as it keeps civilians away from the scene or arrest or recovery.
