Carver Cascade Mk 1

I have recently acuired a caravan with what I think is a mark 1 cascade heater. (looks like a copper mushroom in one of the lockers.

When I first tried everythin, all I had to do was ensure water ran from the hot tap, turn on the gas, turn on the switch, and after a couple of goes I got the steady green light and hot water.

Today, double cheking ready for the holiday next weekend, no matter what i do, I can only get the blinking green light.

Is it somethin I've done, or has it expired?

I've checked for loose connections, and everything is still allright, no plugs undone or anything.

Do people still carry spares for these?

Many thanks,

MW

We have the same kind of heater in our van. We found that if you dis-connected the gas for any reason, when you reconnect it you had to light the gas hob on the oven to flush through any air. The tank then started to heat the water and the green light returned.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice Joanne.

I've tried this, and I lit the gas fire, which is downstream of the water heater.

Having got down close to the unit it sounds like it lights onthe second or third click from the igniter, but the machine keeps clicking, then stops and the light starts flashing.

It's crocked isn't it?
