Will be travelling on the tunnel 25th August, have seen the self check in machines,my question is we are travelling with a dog,can I use these or do I haVE report elsewhere for dogs chip and paperwork to be checked.

Also anyone recommend a site near A 16 about 50 to 60 miles South of Calais.

Not usually this unorganised but have only just managed to replace the van after loosing the other in the floods and thought the trip would be off.

Thanks

John

Sorry can't help with the tunnel query, but I would guess that you'll have to report for the dog's paperwork to be checked.

Try this website for an overnight stop http://users.pandora.be/leo.huybrechts - it's great, and gives details of sites all along the major routes through France.

Sorry, this additional bit of the address takes you straight to the page indicating the routes http://users.pandora.be/leo.huybrechts/00frame.htm

There are several sites in the area you're looking for and Leo gives enough details for you to be able to choose the sort of site you like.

On the outward journey you merely check in on the machine. Your booking will confirm a dog is included and you receive a notice to hang on your rear view mirror. On the return you follow the signs to the dog check in. It is on the right as you approach the terminal. Plenty of parking. Go into the office remembering to take the dog and all the paperwork. You then receive another notice and then you return to the check in lanes. When we have gone to France we stay at La Bien Assisse at Guines which is just south of Calais and use a vet in Calais. No hastle.
