Checking my tyres on my Volkswagen Tiguan 4motion 2.0 TDI DSG

Remember BB, that as the air temperatures go down over the next 3 months you might have to increse the pressures again.

My last Tiguan had Hankook tyres and whilst the front were replaced at 31000 miles the rear still had 4mm of tread when I sold it at 37000 miles.

My current Tiguan has Hankooks with active TPMS fitted and I notice that the warning light comes on when the tyres are about 2 PSI under inflated and this morning when the temperature overnight had been 1 degree they had also reduced in pressure by 2 PSI since they were pumped up yesterday.

With my Sante Fe, when I changed tyres, a few years ago. I had a warning light on, I drove the car for about 200 yards, and light went out. 😃
Due to change tyre soon . Not sure about Hankook k117 or Goodyear Asm 3. So many different blends os the dunlop.

I’ve got a round Michelin one which my son handed up to me. A few years old now but does the job. But to be honest I tend to use my cycle track pump or a standard foot pump for the cars or the caravan. But neither of these would be suitable for you.
I find that the High pressure hand pumps are good for topping up our caravan tyres, Only do,it if we are away for about a 6 weeks round trip though.

Normally I found van tyres were pretty stable and didn’t need the adjustments car tyres do between towing or solo. Puzzled as to why there’s a 6 week window on the caravan tyres.

Due to the fact that I have Tyrepal monitors, I seldom have to top up the tyres. But if away on a "tour break" then might need to top up.

How do Tyrepal monitors affect the need to top up the tyres?

I can see that you don't need to use a conventional tyre gauge but leakage and changes in ambient temperature are no different to any other car/caravan.

I just mean that I can monitor the pressures and decide when to top up the pressures, I would let the pressures drop by say 3 psi difference between tyres before topping up.
