I am looking to go away in the 'van this weekend. Its my first caravan / season and I've discovered that its not so simple to just up and go. Since August I've not had a chance to use it. It turns out that I can't leave till first thing on saturday, so....

I want to turn up at one of the club sites about 10:30 / 11 am and leave at about 5pm on sunday. I don't want this for free and I am prepared to pay a bit extra for this, but....the question...

Will the site mind me asking this? or will they insist I pay 2 nights (or even three...????).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Ian,

The only way to be certain is to give the site a ring. Some Caravan Club rules are at the "wardens discretion".

Hi Ian,

Why not try a CL?

They're usually more flexible than the bigger sites and, even if they do charge you for an extra night, it will probably only be about another

With our CL we only charge per night, this past weekend we had visitors leave around 5.00pm, we have no problems with arrivals or leavings, as Rupert says give CLs a try.

As I said, I'm new to caravanning so I don't know what to expect at a C/L. I want electricity (enough amps to keep warm) and separate shower and toilet block. In the lakes I can make my own entertainment (I'm doing a 15k trail race on Saturday). I will post separately asking about a C/L around troutbeck/Keswick.

Your original post gives the impression you haven't booked a site and you intend just turning up. It's half term, most sites, especially in the Lakes, will be full.

I'd ring before going anywhere.
