Citroen xantia estate

Just wondering what these are like as a tow car.

I need to tow 1436Kgs behind one.

I would of gone the volvo route but you need serious money to find a low mileage example that hasn't carried a ton of antiques on the roof.

The citroen's self levelling suspension caught my eye and I must admit I'm a bit of a french car fan having owned 15 Renaults in the last 25 years. But I'm afraid the laguna 2001 onwards doesn't do it for me, especially with the electrical faults.

hi steve, i,ve had 3 xantia,s a 1.8 a 20L and a 20L 16v. all of them were great never had a problem with any, you don,t say which model you are looking at, the diesel engines are very good

With that weight on the towball, with a Xantia you'll be towing at a weight ratio of around 100% - maybe a bit more. If you're set on a Xantia, I would find a lighter van.
